Is Smash really free for small clubs?
Yes. The entire core product — sessions, scoring, ratings, leaderboards — is free and we intend to keep it that way. Paid tiers add scale (leagues across multiple clubs) and the SmashIQ computer-vision stack.
How are ratings calculated?
We use Glicko-2, which tracks both a rating and the confidence in that rating. It's more forgiving than Elo for players who only play occasionally, and it rewards playing stronger opponents more than grinding easy wins.
Does SmashIQ need special hardware?
Just a phone mounted on the glass. Our suction-cup SmashIQ court mount is optional but makes the capture more reliable. The analysis runs in the cloud; the mount is purely a tripod.
Can our club run tournaments?
Round Robin, Knockout, Americano, Mexicano, and King of the Court are all built in, with auto-round advancement and a multi-court command centre for organisers.
Who owns the data my club enters?
Your club does. We never sell player data and we do not share it with sponsors or brands without explicit opt-in. Individual players can delete their account and all associated data at any time.
How is Smash different from existing apps?
Most padel apps are bookings-first — you search for a court and pay. Smash is club-first — it assumes you already have a crew and the tools you need are tournaments, scoring, and long-term player intelligence. We also don't take a cut of bookings.
